Most refreshing summertime drink!

I'm sipping one right now, and it's perfect for this humid, icky day:

-2 parts homemade iced tea, any recipe you like (best if it's not very sweet)
-1 part white wine
-split the last part between seltzer/sparkling water (for fizz) and lemon juice (for brightness)

So much yummmmm. I made it up, though I'm sure a million drinks like it already exist >_>;; I think I shall call it a 'lemon mist' xD TRY IT

You think it'd be slightly more upsetting.

Sooooo okay. I had another zombie dream last night.

This happens occasionally, you see. Zombie dreams. I'm assuming that the one last night was triggered by the preview for the zombie movie shown before District 9, which I just saw. In this one I was trapped in my house, with my mom and my Aunt Rose, (which was odd, to say the least,) surrounded by hordes of the festering brain-guzzling walking corpses. Someone had hidden all the guns - because apparently we owned like fifty guns - and we were forced to search for them before we could defend ourselves.

Aside from this one, I've had three others that I can remember:

One where I was trapped in the underground tunnels at Purchase with some friends, hiding from the zombies that were trapped underground with us.

Another in which I was part of a gang of super villains, (capes and all, although we really didn't do anything particularly super or villainous,) running through a dessert with millions of the buggers on our tails.

And yet another, in which I was alone in my home when three or four zombies broke in. I hid in the small bathroom off the family room, which has two doors, one leading off to the family room itself, and another leading into the laundry room. In this dream, I'd locked the family room door, but was forced to lean against the one to the laundry room, since the lock was broken. One hungry zombie was trying to bash its way in.
Now, here's the common thread that runs through all of these, which has remained constant in every zombie dream I can recall having: I'm never actually scared in these dreams. I'm always just like, mildly annoyed and put-upon. The same kind of feeling you get when you're twelve and your mother keeps pestering you to clean your room. "What? Hordes of zombies want to eat my brains? Seriously? They don't have anything better to do with their time? Can't they go bother someone else? Uuuuhg, wtf, this is so annoying. Goddammit, where's my gun. Jesus Christ."

That's gotta be my subconscious telling me something - damned if I know what, though xD

Purchase College loves its cancer.

Received this e-mail today:

Beginning in the Fall 2009 semester the Purchase College Bookstore will no longer sell cigarettes. As a state campus we were one of the last remaining institutions to sell cigarettes. As an institution of higher learning which values health, wellness, and environmental sustainability, this old practice does not match our principles.

In the future we will have an open discussion of whether we will/should have a smoke free campus or designated smoking areas.

Thank you.

Oh god. I mean, that's a good thing. But now we're going to have to listen to 70% of the student body bitching about how annoyed they are about it.

Insert the sound of me sighing loudly here.

I planted a flower on the grave.
Oh god the internet is dead.

There's like... nothing going on. Plus, aside from interwebs woes, I'm (1) unemployed, (2) unsatisfied with most things I draw lately, and (3) out of good reading material, and thus need to search for more. Translation: I am so bored.

Anyone know of anything entertaining that kills time?

On the up-side, I've been able to keep myself busy on a relatively steady basis with pet-sitting jobs. I've got another lined up to begin on Monday, so that's good, I suppose. (The last people I pet-sat for were so nice. They added and extra $30 onto the bill, and they even bought me a cute little note-holder from where they went. I love sweet old people xD) Soooooo at least I will be able to frolic with cute animals for a little while longer. Which is never a bad thing! (I mean, it's pretty much impossible to get sick of puppies, right? :D)

I also kind of want to start doing commissions or something of the like. The only problem? I've got no market. I am an internet nobody - a lowly singularity in the great expanse that is the teeming nest of the web (poetic, yes?) - so I really would probably only make like $5 xD But hell, I'm going to get some things in order, then maybe give it a go. Can't hurt to try? Pfffft yeah w/e 'think positive' and all that BS

aaauuuuhg I really must not be so negative all the time it's like bad for my heart or something O_o
Now I'm making an effort to actually, y'know, use it.)

Um.. it is filled with my arts and silly sketches?
I Am Not:

-A snooty art student
-Pretentious
-Obsessed with Starbucks
-Middle aged and going through a creative mid-life crisis
-A Hipster

However, despite all of this, I've finally done it. I've fallen for the hype. Mostly I just want to know what all the hullabaloo is about, and really, I've never run across a sheet of blank paper I couldn't make use of. So, even if it doesn't live up to all that hype, I'm sure I'll still make use of it somehow.

What the hell hell am I talking about? Well, I've finally joined the legions of art students/hipsters/ middle-aged journalers/the few completely unpretentious people who just so happen to like them, and bought myself a moleskine notebook.

Not gonna lie. There's so much hype surrounding them that I'm kind of excited to see what the deal is about - and being someone who's pretty much obsessed with blank journals in any form, (I could browse the fancy-ass journal section of B&N and/or the much more practical notebook section of Office Depot alike for hours, I am NOT EVEN EXAGGERATING*,) whether it's as orgasmically amazing as everyone seems to think moleskines are or not, I'm still getting a blank journal out of the deal so I win no matter what yesssss

I mean, really. Just the fact that I deem this topic interesting enough to post about shows just how obsessed with blank journals I am. Amazon better hurry up with my order ;A;

* - And I know I'm not the only one - this seems to be a trait found in most art students. I am somehow reminded of a long ago trip to Office Depot with Sarah. The image of her running towards the pen section, flailing her arms and going "Office supplies!" is a fond memory indeed.

YUKI PENGIN!!!
Oh man. Oh. Man. I am so happy.

Whilst doing my annual summertime-bedroom-clean-out, I happened to stumble across something interesting. Remember like, almost ten years ago, when tamagochi pets and stuff were mad popular? Well, I found the bag that had all the little pets that my sisters and I ever owned: a tamagochi, two Rakuraku Dino-Kuns, (dinky-dinos, as we called them, xD) a nano puppy, a pound puppy, and a YUKI PENGIN! (My personal favorite :DD)

This is what mine looks like:

HOLY FUCK IT IS SO CUTE.

Oh yes, I am totally raising a Yuki Pengin right now. He's already four days old. His name is Masato. I seriously forgot how fun these things could be xD

I am so doing the tamagochi next.

I'm just so ready

to be done with this semester.

Seriously. The only classes I really enjoyed were my art history class (as usual) and my figure drawing class (as usual). Art in the Dark and collage? They can suck it. No, really, they can.

In other news:

1. Culture Shock was this weekend and it was pretty fun. Got to hang out with people, got to trip, got to take it easy. I mean, now I have to catch up on all the work I didn't do, but... well.
2. My roommate is currently doing a lot of typing (writing an essay?) and I am thoroughly enjoying the sound of her computer keys. Oh man I could just listen to that sound forever.
3. I suddenly have lots of food? (Left overs that people didn't want and gave to me. Yay for making my meal plan last a little longer.)
4. Katamari Damacy. What? Holy shit.
5. It's really funny that I update this thing because I... have no friends on lj, except for - mostly - people I know in real life. (When you think about it, the concept of online friends is like, what? I've never even seen your face.)
6. I'm wondering if it would be somehow possible to coordinate a figure drawing class in my hometown over the summer. I have no idea how I would do it, but I kind of want to look into it. Because seriously. I think I could teach a damn figure class.

Man oh man I am really tired =_= I should probably go to beddddd

"Muscles and bones, and just clap your hands..."
"...and just clap your hands."

Oh. My. God.

I fucking LOVE anatomy.

We started doing muscles a couple weeks ago in my figure class and HOLY CRAPPP. I can't even describe how much I love it. So far we've only done torso, back, and upper leg muscles, but already my figure drawing has improved so much. I've never really understood how knowing what the inside of a person looks like could improve your skills, but jesus, I do now.

I plan on eventually posting some more of my drawings from my figure class up here, but for now, I've just got a few sketches that I made last night. Muscles are seriously the most beautiful structures to draw. They're just so curvy and delicious! YUMMMM

Now, I'm not claiming all the stuff I'm drawing here is 100% accurate. But it is pretty darn close :DD

Mr. McMuscle-Man! This was so unbelievably fun to draw, I cannot even tell you. Oh my god.

At any rate, I've left a lot of stuff out - lower legs, arms, external obliques - mostly because we haven't learned that stuff yet DDD: And I also SUPER simplified the bones. But you get the general idea, anyway xD

LOOK AT THOSE LEGS OM NOM NOM. I want to draw them all over again ;A;

Then I decided to tray using anatomy to draw Mr. McMuscle-Man as just a regular dude. I drew the flayed version on a piece of paper, then flipped it over and traced its outline on the other side. Et voila! (I've always had trouble drawing the male figure, and now it's like I have a magical secret trick for doing it. Even though it's.... not a secret at all >_>;;)

Again, I'm not saying that this is perfect, but I think it's one of the best male caricatures I've ever done.

And notice his severe lack of dick. I am still a 12-year-old at heart xD

And also, more randomly:

AHAHAHAHA LOOK AT THIS GUY

This has nothing to do with anatomy. This has all to do with me being bored on a Friday night.

Huh, he only has four fingers? O_o

Aaaaaaand now that I've proved just how lame I am, I'm leaving :D
Haha this is x-rated (not)

Sooooo like I said. Time to post some crap from my figure drawing class!

Model named Frank. These are each five minute gestures. Frank's a damn good model.

Aaaaaand more five minute gestures of Frank. Five minutes is not a lot of time DDDD:

Then minute pose of Frank. We had to try and find the rib cage and pelvis in the body. This is hardddddd, but so worth is, as if you keep doing it your drawings improve so fast @_@

Another ten minute pose of Frank.

Twenty minute pose of Frank. The saga of the pelvis and rib cage continues.

Frank, twenty minutes.

Another twenty minute of Frank. Foreshortening!

This model is a girl named Gurl. Another super amazing model. (I think she's actually a student here....?)

Only had ten minutes on this one >_>;; IGNORE THE LACK OF FEET

This one was a twenty minutes pose, I think. Again, of Gurl.

She's so skinny you can see her pelvis like.... whoa. It makes it easier xD

Gurl, forty-five minutes. Aahahahaha awkward compostionnnnnn but I like her foremost arm, so it's okay. >_>;;

This one was an hour drawing, again, of Gurl. Anatomically speaking, this is my best drawing yet :DDD

These are homework assignments. We get to draw from the skeleton yessssss I have such a huge boner for this class.

Well! There you have it. All the naked you could ever want xD

naked people?!

...I love them. We are learning basic anatomy in figure drawing II this semester and I AM IN LOVE. It's amazing how fascinating rib cages and pelvises are, and how quickly they improve your figures. Like. So cool.

If I had a camera I would totally post my drawings. I may borrow someones and do just that. NAKED PEOPLE YES. X-RATED POST.

Also:

I got sick Wednesday night with this bitch of a stomach virus and puked NINE TIMES. I basically just curled up on the bathroom floor and took catnaps in between puke sessions.

It was awesome. My stomach is actually still a little fucked up from it.

Holy shit I really need to borrow someones camera and post some naked people.

completely pointless/random

I'm really fucking bored so I'm updating. It's snowing really heavy right now so I can't even go outside and wonder around aimlessly (like I have been lately)

List of completely random shit that is crossing my brain right now:

1. I really love the sound of my own computer keys.
2. Yo I really need some good LJ icons. (Yes, NEED.)
3. Someone should make an LJ with the name referendum so that we can be best buds.
4. I made 55 drawings in my Art in the Dark class this morning and now I have to do six paintings for homework every week whyyyyyyyyyyy
5. Out of those 55 drawings I only liked 5
6. I really hate my life right now because everyone is too busy to hang out. (Even though everyone has enough time to hang out with each other.)
7. I've come to terms with the fact that I live in the creeper dormitory. In fact, I'm almost kind of proud. I'm totally squatting my room for the rest of forever.
8. Someone I know needs to live in a place with a kitchen so we can have dinner get-togethers and cook for each other.
9. I should probably A) drink more water and B) watch more adorable puppy videos on youtube.

Man, do I write boring entries or what? Maybe I'm just boring and that's why no one ever says yes when I ask them to hang out DDD:

Ahahahaha More Art.

..Because otherwise I'm a completely uninteresting person.

Aha look I drew myself on Tegaki:

Really, I am not this pretty at all. But everyone looks better as a cartoon. This is an unspoken rule of the universe.

More silly sketches and whatnot. (From my new noteboooook~~<3)

I would not want to meet this fellow in a dark ally. (Actually it's just Alex. In fact, most of the people I draw are just Kenneth and Alex O_o)

He has what I like to call the 'douche-bag smile'.

I have no idea what I meant by 'Requiem'. I just wanted to write something on the ribbon.

Also, I really don't know if this is a chick or a dood. (A chood?)

I felt like drawing some profiles et voila! Alex and Kenneth in a staring contest. Th-they look so angry ._.;;

The two main characters of one of my favorite stories, The God Eaters. I actually don't like these very much, but I'm already running out of art to post, so there you go >_>;;

P.S. Ash has freckles not pimples =_=

Aaaaaand more Alex/Kenneth crap. Ignore Kenneth, he's all fucked up and I haven't gotten around to fixing him yet. But I do enjoy the Alex on this page. His expression is so !dramatic.

Stop staring at meeeeeeee

He's a gangsta', yo. MR. HOVEL. I love 'hovel' as a name. Ahahahaha I'm so creativeee

And aw crap suits are so fun to draw. I just found out recently that there's a difference between a tux and a suit. My sister yelled at me when I saw her boyfriend in a photo and was like "I've never seen him in a suit before," and she was all "HEY IT'S A TUX, ASSHOLE."
Oh my god they look the same. I mean, really.

Mr. Hovel is wearing a suit.

Well, that's all for now. I think I'm going to go use Tegaki~~ Lately I've been rediscovering how freaking awesome it is. Yes yes yes Tegaki, here I come!

ART ART ART

Omg so much art.

I got bored and decided to post some of my superdumb sketches and crap. But hey. Yeah.

First of all, poses are cool.

Hahaha I fucked up so many times on this picture >_> Ignore all the shadow limmmmbs.

Action photo! (Despite the fact that it's entirely not a photo.)

My god this is even worse than running with scissors.

All right no more lame poses.

I really wanted to draw a person to name 'Mason Dixon'. And I did. I came up with some kind of silly story behind him that I don't really feel like explaining right now. Just know that he's a cocky badass. Yepp.

Mason and his bodyguard, this ridiculously tall chick named Maria. And yes, that is, in fact, a woman. And also, yes, she is wearing pants. They're leggings, I swear. There's a silly back-story for her too, which I also don't feel like explaining. Soooo yeah.

Guys, she's so tall.

Cool eye makeuuuuuup

Some badass. Don't you want his outfit? (I know I do.)

Jerk!

A character from some story I'm (sort of) working on. He wears shadows as clothes. You should be impressed.

Another character from the same story. There are a bunch of characters like these guys. I'm just too lazy to sketch them all. >_>;;

I got this really cool little notebook for Christmas that I absolutely adore. I think I might fill it up waaaaay too fast.

Some more from out of that notebook. And hey, it's another Action!Pose.

I love drawing over the crease.

Big baggy sleeves are so awesomeeeee. This is another outfit I wish I had, and would most likely never wear if I did.

(I drew over the crease again.) :3

Can you tell I really love this outfit?

And god this notebook is so cool.

Well, that's all. You like? HOPE SO. Hahahaha maybe I should post art more often. My Lj is so lame >_>;;
