Received this e-mail today:
Beginning in the Fall 2009 semester the Purchase College Bookstore will no longer sell cigarettes. As a state campus we were one of the last remaining institutions to sell cigarettes. As an institution of higher learning which values health, wellness, and environmental sustainability, this old practice does not match our principles.
In the future we will have an open discussion of whether we will/should have a smoke free campus or designated smoking areas.
